As I wrote yesterday, I’ve started keeping a visual record of the things that strike me during the day. I imagine that on some days this visual diary will be more complex, like some of the dream diaries I’ve shared in the past, whereas on other days it’ll be nothing more than a very quick sketch or note. The one I did yesterday afternoon was of the quick-sketch variety: a brief skimming-off of my visual landscape for the day, plus a little game Erik found on the internet.
(By the way, this is the original dress that inspired my note on the first page.)

Oh my, that game looks pretty addictive. I’m going to avoid looking it up for now. π
I am such a sucker for artist sketch journals–something about the work-in-progress/immediacy of them really does it for me. Thanks for letting me peek into yours.
There’s another version called “Brussels Sprouts” which Erik also introduced me to, yesterday — I think I like it even better than Sprouts. π
Thank you for peeking into my sketchbook! I hope to use it a lot more as time goes on. I’m such a word person that it’s second nature to me now to open up my journal anytime something strikes me, but I’m not so practiced at doing it visually, and that’s what I want to cultivate.
You are currently reading 7 books? Wow. That’s concentration. I like your sketchbook idea – good artistic practice.
The seven books are more accurately books that I’ve begun and intend at some point to finish, but I confess I’m not actively reading any of them. π I have read five books (and started a sixth) in the past week, which is a high count even for me, but definitely sequentially — I don’t think I could handle more than two books at once (and absolutely not the ones in my “currently reading”, which are heavy/detailed… hence my procrastination on finishing them. ;b )
I really hope to keep up the sketchbook activity. It’ll be such a good practice once we’re traveling too!
You not just have the final thing but also the process to it! It is a good for a Portfolio! Keep it up! π
π At this point my blog is basically my portfolio!
woah cool! π
