I don’t know if it’s because I was feeling especially receptive and adventurous, or because this is the model I’ve drawn most frequently, or what, but I love something about every one of the paintings I did on this evening. I was trying some new approaches that have turned out to be useful and interesting.
I won’t write more here, but if you want to know more about each picture, click on it to be taken to a larger version and more detailed description.
All of these are brilliantl Lisa, especially like the way you did the green one..
Thank you, Munira! 🙂
I like the green one too. “Great ass” indeed…..and the way you painted the gown in the wading picture – outstanding!
Thanks, Sherry! That dress practically painted itself, it was so pretty. The front was even lovelier!
You’re probably going to laugh at this but keep in mind I’m not an artist…I love ‘Wading’ because it blows me away you can paint something I can see through. I also like ‘green’.
Lisa, I’m not laughing, I’m smiling because depictions of see-through stuff always astound me too. This is the first time I’ve managed it myself!
Hi Lisa,
This exercise must have been very rewarding. I can see it in the gestures. Your drawing line flows very nicely. My favorite is the “in the studio”. I really get a feeling of you exploring your art in your own beautiful space.
This is one of your best posts!!
Thanks, Walter! I quite like this collection too! It’s not my art studio exactly – it’s the painting studio at the local art center – but I did make it my own in my depiction since it doesn’t exactly look like I painted it. 🙂
Thank you for giving me a few moments of joy!!!! I haven’t painted a model in years. I forgot how much I loved doing it. It’s hard to have a favorite. I like the colors. They look true. I have a hard time getting the correct colors on wordpress.
Glad you liked these, Carla! I do them at the Richmond Art Center — they have an uninstructed figure drawing class that I just love. It won’t be offered again until 2012, unfortunately.
