Colonoscopy went well

After a successful morning flush, I went to the endoscopy center for my procedure. I was kind of lonely and scared once I was undressed and in the bed (though they did give me lovely warmed socks and blankets), but after a while I relaxed and felt okay. Actually I thought about a graphic novel I’m working on, about a girl who spends a lot of time in a hospital, and that gave me enough to think about to get my mind off myself.

The actual procedure was nothing to worry about. The doctor and nurses were very nice, and I was conscious enough throughout to be able to watch everything on the screen. Afterward I rested for a while (still not sleeping), and while I’m still a little less steady than usual, I’m feeling pretty okay now.

The doctor was pleased with how it all went. He took some samples to be biopsied, and removed a couple of polyps which they’ll also test. I’ll get these results in seven days. I also got the result of my recent gluten-sensitivity blood test, and that was negative, so I’m allowed gluten again. I’m trying not to go overboard with this.

Overall I’m feeling pretty happy and good right now. I’ve cleaned out my system, had a good lunch (sandwich! with bread!), discovered that drinking tons of water makes my skin look fabulous (and if I do it on less food than usual, I don’t have to pee so often), and have learned that a colonoscopy isn’t so bad after all.
