I feel happy. I had an off-day at work and came home very cross, and I persisted in feeling cross no matter how many hugs or purring head-butts I received. Then I went back to the book I’ve been reading for two days, Allegra Goodman’s The Family Markowitz, and by the time I finished it, the stories had smoothed out my dark clouds and replaced them with fondness for all humanity. Isn’t it amazing that a book can do that?
And now, also, my to-read shelf is one book lighter. Yay!
