Checking in

I have a lot to tell you! I have a new job, I met the most inspiring and delightful little old man yesterday (definitely worth his own journal entry), there’s a food article I read that I wanted to share, let’s see… I’m sure there are other things, but I can’t think of them right now. Unfortunately the problem with now having thirty hours of work and seven hours of class per week (in addition to my reasonable commute) is that I don’t have as much time to write anymore. In fact, at the moment, I have to leave for work in about an hour and I’ve still got a lot to do before I go. So I’m just checking in with you for now, letting you know I’m still alive and quite well, and eager to fill you in once I get the chance!

For now, some news I’m quite excited about: UC Berkeley now has its own YouTube channel, which you can view at www.youtube.com/ucberkeley. At first I thought this was a “Cal spirit” sort of thing whereby students could share their videos with their fellow Bears, but it turns out the university is posting full class lectures. So far they don’t have very many classes — I believe they are planning to add more — but they do have one that I tried to take my senior year but couldn’t fit into my schedule, so I’m thrilled about that. It’s PACS 164: Introduction to Nonviolence. I audited a few classes at the beginning of the semester and then my work caught up with me and I had to stop, so I will definitely be having a look at Prof Nagler’s lectures as soon as I can.

Enjoy! I’ll come back when I get to chance to fill you in on what’s been going on in my life. 🙂
