This day started for me at 8:30 with cleaning up Tisha’s hairballs, washing a batch of embarrassingly long-standing dirty dishes, and drawing out an idea I came up with last night:

Hand-inked, scanned, colored in Photoshop.
I’d really like to make this into an actual spinny thing, with the sword of destiny affixed to the center of the circle, spinnable to land on any of the sections and provide a quest for the day.
And yes, Wei-Ling, I am so going to get a tablet!!
[This post was imported on 4/10/14 from my old blog at satsumabug.livejournal.com. I still don’t have a tablet.]
I like this. But where’s the “take a nap” option? Maybe it’s under “work smarter and harder” or “seek truth”.
I decided against including indulgences on either the quest wheel or the “features not included” section, because they could take over way too easily. Besides naps, I also omitted “eat chocolate.” The ones I put on the not-included list were vices that are serious life-management issues for me, like shopping (which speaks to particular desires and insecurities, as well as ruins my budget), and internet browsing (biggest time-waster ever invented, as far as I’m concerned).
I’m glad you liked it though. 🙂
Oh but yes, you’re right; nap-taking could easily fall under either truth-seeking or working smarter and harder. 🙂 And, possibly, “ignore voices of doubt.”
i want that on a poster. :0)
I did actually have the idea of making it a dartboard instead of a spinny-thing. If I get around to trying out the dartboard, you may have it. 🙂
I am making this a memory and maybe building the wheel one day. XD hahaha!!!! you have the greatest ideas!!!
Thank you! 🙂 I am enjoying tapping into this side of me. I don’t know why I never spent much time combining drawings and words before… ??
lisa, this is GREAT!! :)I wish I could have something like this in my classroom! – alison
Thank you, Alison! 🙂 I *know* you can make your own version and it’ll be just as swell, *and* have an Alison stamp on it. 🙂
