Nice weekend.

I’ve been having a great weekend so far, which is good because as soon as I finish some cleanup stuff around my apartment I need to write my Renaissance paper!

Last night, instead of spending time with my usual Friday night people, Erik and I went out with Xanthe and her boyfriend Phil and their friends to celebrate Xanthe’s birthday. We had a really fun time. First we saw Spiderman, which was a lot more interesting than I thought it would be. It was very entertaining and totally worth the ticket price. After the movie was over, we went to Caffé Giovanni (on Shattuck, right before Dwight I believe) for dinner, which wasn’t especially good despite their delicious rosemary bread. Then we hung out with Xanthe and Phil at their fascinating apartment for a little while before going to Albany Bowl to go bowling and play pool. I didn’t play pool because I don’t know how and didn’t feel like learning, although I did bowl a little. I broke two nails and completely lost to everyone else, but that’s okay. It was fun. And Erik played sooo much pool. He loves pool and is pretty good at it, and practically never gets a chance to play so he totally enjoyed it. The evening was quite different from my normal sedentary fooding activities, so it was a welcome change (isn’t it just the saddest thing that my feet hurt today?!) and I had a wonderful time hanging out with Xanthe and Phil. They are cool. To be succinct about it.

This morning, I got up early to go have breakfast at La Note with my Friday people and Prof Nelson. We had to wait a while for our table, and Erik and Cathy and I were really tired (Cathy stayed out late last night too, in SF), but the food was marvelous of course and we had a good time talking. I actually didn’t feel like rich pancakes or big omelettes so I just had two boiled eggs and buttered toast, and some Earl Grey tea. There’s nothing like a good breakfast, unless it’s a good breakfast at dinner time. 😀

Now for my paper. I really can’t wait until summer… too bad there’s that little wall called ‘finals’ in the way!
