Visual diary: Backpack

My “personal item” for the plane, for tomorrow’s flight to Toronto.

Painting of the contents of my backpack

I was going to do similar drawings for everything I’m bringing, but this one took such a long time, I don’t think I will.

Also, I just realized I neglected to include my journal and sketchbook.

  1. ooooo this painting is amazing!!!!! i love all the tiny detail and everything looks so true-to-life. hehe and i was wondering if i recognized that little red tube… i guess i did! ;)

i love getting a peek into handbags and closets and homes… this is right in line with that :) also, this motivates me to catch up on my “acquired goods” drawings…

enjoy your last day here & safe travels!!! i will miss you <3

    • Thank you!! Hee. I thought you’d recognize it. ;) This was definitely partly inspired by your “acquired goods” sketchbook!! I thought of you while I was painting. :)

I’ll miss you too!! Thank goodness for gchat! ;)

    • Thank you so much, Ré! It fascinates me, too. I wish I could animate it so you could see all the pouches and compartments unzipping and all the items unfolding and lining up neatly. And thank you also for the good journeying wishes. :)

    • :) I love the sunglasses case. It opens with what I think is called a pinch clasp — you can open the case with one hand. It’s made of fabrics that used to be design samples, and were saved from landfill. It’s not the most protective case — it’s soft instead of hard-sided — but that makes it fit more easily into a purse or backpack. :)

    • Thanks, Alejna!! I’m not sure if I’ve done this exact thing before — my memory says no, but then it’s so in line with the way I think that it’s perfectly possible I’ve done it before and forgotten. ;)

What do you think?
