I love these! Ranunculus (ranunculi?) and camellias are among my favorites.

I am curious about the plural of ranunculus as well. πŸ™‚ Aha! Dictionary.com says ranunculuses or ranunculi! πŸ˜€ They and camellias are among my favorites as well — also peonies and certain types of roses. Showy blooms with lots of petals πŸ™‚

Thank you so much, Ronit! It’s difficult to try to capture all these petals and their shadows.

That orange ranunculus at the top of the painting has my heart. One of my favorite flowers, one of my favorite colors! Lovely!

Aw, thank you, Stacie! It’s a nice bold one, isn’t it? It wasn’t quite so bright in real life but I do like the way it looks on the page.

True true! I forget I can have it, sometimes, when I’m fixated on trying to realistically depict something. πŸ˜‰

They’re all gorgeous! Together, they’ll make for a gorgeous bouquet. I used to religiously purchase bouquets of flowers for my home on a weekly basis. They added such Life to our table and ultimately, our home. Not that life is lacking, but some color definitely is. This is a gentle reminder to restore some of that color. They inspire great writing, along with my Zesty Mojito tea. πŸ™‚

I always used to think it was so nice that some people could manage flowers every week; somehow I could never get it together to go buy them, choose which ones, change the water, etc. But now I seem to have joined the ranks of weekly-flowers folks, and I love it! The other day I was at a good local independent supermarket, browsing their selections, and I realized that now I’m making flowers more of a habit, I’ve gotten a lot better at selecting which ones go together. This happens every time I develop new habits — I’m always astonished to find that practice improves my ability. ;b

What is this Zesty Mojito tea? πŸ˜€

Practice makes perfect! Come on, you gotta admit, you left that door wide open for me to walk through. πŸ™‚

Zesty Mojito Tea is a loose-leaf tea made by a friend of mine, Farrah, who is CEO of Gaia’s Essence. For some reason or the other, it gets (keeps) my creative juices flowing when I need it the most.

Farrah has an incredible line-up of all natural loose teas, and salt-free seasonings. Check out the website of the same name if you ever get the chance. You might find something you like.

Thank you, dear friend! It’s inspiring me as well — I think having the regularly changing flowers, then observing them closely to paint them, then hanging the paintings and buying new flowers, is really enhancing the way I look at and enjoy my living space. Such a beautiful thing.
