A few new photos for the visual-inspiration file, taken with my new camera (a birthday present) while walking along the San Francisco Bay Trail near Berkeley one afternoon.
I may have walked that trail shivering a little in the chill December air… rush hour on Highway 80 may have been a mere fence and a strip of dirt away… but feeling the air on my face, moving my arms and legs, looking out over that water as the sun prepared to drop below the horizon… I just felt: ohΒ world, beautiful world.

Beautiful world, indeed! At about that moment (give or take an hour) I was out at Albany Point with almost the exact same view and thought. Synchronicity.
Oooh, awesome. π How do you get to Albany Point… is that beyond the racetrack?
You got some lovely shots here, Lisa. And just the mention of 80 brought back some interesting memories for me. Thanks!
Of course! π It’s hard to avoid getting good photos on a waterfront near sunset, honestly… but I think I picked the best of the bunch. π
Yes… you did share your story “West on 80” with us, didn’t you? I’m guessing that’s related to some of those memories. π
It is a beautiful world out there Lisa. A beautiful world indeed. Head over to my latest post and see my interpretation of being out on a trail enjoying the world.
I’ll go check out your recent posts, Walter!
There are some great photos here Lisa. Especially love the third one.
Thank you, Jason! This week we’ve been getting out for a walk every day (might as well take advantage of a dry winter, no?) and it’s been really good.
I live near a beautiful town………..and near a pretty drab one. I know ‘Frisco is lovely but your post inspires me to go find the beauty in the drab town (it might be a challenge though).
Heh, yes. There are many people who would consider the side of the bay we live on — East Bay, not the SF side — the drab side! Those people don’t know what they’re missing! But then, I have been in very few places that didn’t hold at least some beauty and interest.
