Happy holidays, dear friends!!!
I’m doing something I’ve never done before: I’m taking a voluntary week-long vacation from the blog, so I can be fully present in enjoying my family and friends during the holidays. It has been a wonderful year on the blog, and I am so grateful to all of you who read and offer me your support and encouragement on a regular basis. I think of you as my friends as much as any of the ones I see in person, and in fact, I probably count on you more to get me through each day! So I thank you deeply for that — I put my hands together at my heart center and bow to each of you. May this next week find you warm and full of joy and peace.
I’ll leave you with two things. The first is the best painting I’ve made to date, which I finished last night and will give to a friend next week.
The second is Playing for Change‘s version of John Lennon’s “Imagine.”
Playing for Change travels the world bringing people together through music, and providing much-needed resources to musicians and their communities. Their videos inspire me constantly.
I’ve heard a cynic describe “Imagine” as “maudlin,” but I’ve always loved it, and with musicians playing it together from across the world, the message sounds so possible, I cried when I watched the video. I hope it’ll lift your heart too.
I love you. See you soon. π
happy holidays!!! β€
Thank you, Tamara! And thank you again for the wonderful Indian fabrics — and the stories about how you got them. π Can’t wait to get back to our place (we’re still at the parents’) and get them cleaned up. π Hope you’re having a lovely week! Happy New Year!
Merry Christmas back to you, Lisa! Have a wonderful week of celebration. (I took this week off.) I know 2011 will be another year of unfolding growth for you. Cheers!
Thank you, Sherry! Hope you’ve had a delightful week too! May 2011 be a beautiful, bountiful, fascinating year for you and your family. π
Maudlin or no, I cry at “Imagine,” too. π I LOOOOOVE your Pema painting!! Wow, wow, wow. So beautiful.
Have a wonderful week with your family–and good for you for taking a blog break–and here’s to an absolutely magical new year! xoxo
Yay for crying at songs. π Thank you for the painting love! I just got some new paper and have ordered some new paints, so there’s more work forthcoming. π
Cheers to you too! I second the wish for a magical 2011 — clink glasses! I toast all the Nutmegs as well! *tiny clinks*
Hope you’ve been enjoying your week off, lovely Lisa! Happy New Year! May it be filled with light, creation, joy and love!
Thank you so much, Stacie! The same to you, and warmly!!
