Not feeling work-y, but worked anyway

I keep thinking today is Friday! Slightly sleepy day today — I think I’m a little tired from all my recent hard work — but I still got a fair amount done:

  • morning pages
  • yoga
  • did some prep work on pins for the shop
  • scanned an entire boxful of old family photos
  • wrote a couple of journal entries (I’ve decided I need to include more images in my postings, so I started with these)
  • strung a bead and ribbon necklace to see how it would look (the background fabric will be the lining for the yoga mat tote I’m working on!)
  • bead and ribbon necklaceread through another children’s book on my to-read shelf
  • read through my file on disaster preparedness, initiated a Facebook conversation with friends about this, looked up some phone numbers and other info online, and started brainstorming with Erik how we can improve our supplies and emergency plan. Last night we read that the Haiti earthquake is potentially the second deadliest earthquake in history, second only to one in China in the 16th century. We contributed the rest of our quarterly giving budget to the Red Cross (that amount was supposed to last us until April 1, but why wait?) and wished we could do more; I guess our own emergency preparedness is our attempt to help ourselves for the future.

I think that’s it. I didn’t feel very mindful today… I ate too much for lunch, plowed through the crafting and photo-scanning while feeling kind of out of it, and now I’m headachy and should be in bed. We’ll see how I feel tomorrow. I probably just need a good break (and  the disaster preparedness stuff is a downer for sure, and HAITI) but I’ll get that this weekend when our LA friends Jason and Lisa arrive!
