Yoga and necessary errands/tasks really take up a lot of time. I got up this morning at 7:30, and by the time I finished watering the plants, eating breakfast and doing my morning pages, and checking my email, it was pretty much time to leave for yoga. I did some errands on the way back from class, and by the time I finished lunch it was about 1:30 or 2:00. I cut decoupage scraps for a couple of hours, then showered, and by that time (what with random things in between), we were ready to eat dinner… so here I am at 6:35 and all I’ve done is cut scraps. Granted, a couple of errands are done, the house is clean, I’m clean, and I’ve exercised, and I’ll spend the rest of my evening at drawing class… but it’s still unnerving how quickly the day passes in these necessary tasks. The yoga I need, but it does take up about two and a half hours of my day each time I go to class in Berkeley. I’m not sure what to do about all this, except just breathe deeply and take it in stride.
Other insights from the day:
- It’s good to do yoga on days when I know for sure I will be making art.
- I don’t think I should cut decoupage scraps on consecutive days. Must save my wrists and hands.
