If you have iGoogle or Windows Vista, and you use your computer more than is good for you, here’s something you might like. I recently downloaded a free gadget called StretchClock. It’s a little timer that you can set to go off at whatever intervals you like. When the timer goes off, the gadget automatically takes you* to their website, and a video plays showing you a quick stretch. At first I thought I would just use the timer and do my own stretches, but I actually love the videos. The stretches are easy, they target different areas of the body affected by computer use and sitting, and the Blues Brothers-ish model makes me smile.**
I still use my computer way more than I should, but StretchClock has been helping me at least stand up every 20 minutes and stretch it out!
*You can disable the automatic-ness.
**NB: I’ve never watched the videos with the sound on.
