Costume exhibit downtown
Hmm. I may have to go to this [link broken]. FIDM, the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, has an exhibit that’s going on from now till the end of April, showcasing costumes from movies. There will be costumes from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Walk the Line, The Aviator, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Chronicles of Narnia, Memoirs of a Geisha, Star Wars: Episode III, and others. The exhibit is open six days a week and admission is free. Map and parking information are here.
I don’t suppose this will be the most fascinating thing I’ve seen, but it should be fun, and I’m always up for a worthy excuse to go downtown. I’ll have to check it out sometime in the upcoming weeks.

On a side note, I picked up a package of Christopher’s Assorted Fruit Jellies while I was at Trader Joe’s this afternoon, and I’ve already eaten like half the box. This should not be surprising, as Sunkist Fruit Gems were one of my favorite and least-obtained candies when I was a kid. I think the Christopher’s are a little firmer than the Sunkist, but that might just be a trick of my memory.
Ah, such lovely little balls of sugar they are. Trader Joe’s is so full of tasty treats and snacks (their pistachio toffee is also amazing; it was their sample today) that I usually have a strict no-snackies policy whenever I shop there, just to prevent myself from coming home with a cartful of Joe-Joes. But when I saw the fruit jellies I knew I had to indulge myself. . . and boy am I glad I did!
[This post was imported on 4/10/14 from my old blog at satsumabug.livejournal.com. I don’t think I ever did go to the FIDM. But I know for sure I ate all the fruit jellies.]
