Oh my goodness dance was SO much fun today. I have energy enough to bounce around all day long. Normally we have a pianist to accompany us and provide a beat, but today we had a guy playing an African drum instead. It looked like this [link broken]. When the accompanist plays nice soft piano music, it’s sometimes easy to just fall into languidness, especially if I’m tired, but it’s completely impossible to ignore the drumbeats. The drummer also wore rattles on his ankles (like these [link broken], maybe, or these [link broken]? They have both at Tupper and Reed, I noticed last weekend). It didn’t sound like just one guy. Actually, really good drummers rarely do, but we don’t always realize that when we’re thinking of solo drummers. So anyway DANCE WAS SO MUCH FUN!!!!
