today has been a pretty fun day. after french, i went to shane’s office hours to practice conversation. i got to talk to some of my fellow students i’d never really had the chance to talk to before… of all things, we formed a rapport after a conversation about infomercials… i absorbed a lot of french, decided my conversation skills are quite okay, and found that with a little bit of help i can read a french scholarly text about the excavation of a monastery. 🙂 (not required reading. someone wanted help translating.) i also found out, exciting news, that shane not only sings but also plays piano 🙂 i don’t know about other people, but i always find it interesting to learn about my teachers — what do they do besides teach? why do they teach and why do they teach that particular subject? etcetera.
i’ve also decided that i like shakespeare again. his plays certainly are better than his sonnets.
