a paean to self-confidence

you know how i feel today? you know how they describe someone as ‘coming into her own’ or ‘she’s come into her own’? right? well, whatever ‘my own’ is, i’m in it. the universe is unfolding exactly the way it’s meant to, the world is a song, it’s good! to interact with people, we may all be famous after all, my apartment is full of onions, j’ai l’air sympathique et intelligent, i can cook, people love me and i love people, i have no fruit but that’s okay, and my feet hurt but i look good.

i ran into gina from portuguese today in bart. i love portuguese so much it’s always wonderful to run into someone from that class. i also ran into another guy from portuguese… what was his name now… it wasn’t sergio was it? i can’t remember.

french was fun and interesting and i’m good at it. shane, my french teacher, was in riverdance! he was part of anúna, a singing group. and now he’s teaching introductory french. i love it.

i’m reading something a close friend wrote. who knows, maybe we will have a famous writer in our midst before too long! i’m buoyant.

la vie est belle.
life is good.
la vida es bella.
a vida é linda.
