Today is a decent balance

Very decent workday. I realized while doing my morning pages that I’ve been feeling a bit scattered all week because we are having people over for dinner on Saturday and I had not written down a shopping list or to-do list for that. So I made those lists within my morning pages, which took a very short amount of time, and the lists were not nearly as intimidating in their specific form as the vague anxiety was. So there’s a lesson (one I’ve learned before, but in different context).

I sent out a couple of holiday gifts, then went to Bridges and to my singing lesson. In between, I had lunch out and did a lot of excellent planning on my novel while I ate. I’m very pleased about that. I think this is going to be super-fun to write, which can only be a good thing at this stage — anything to keep the motivation going.

At home, I made three Christmas gifts, and after dinner transcribed two pages of notes from the recent family-history conversations, and all my novel planning from lunch.

I’m quite tired.
