I woke up all energized from the weekend and ready to work. Somehow I didn’t get as much done as I’d hoped. But so it goes. Did my morning pages, baked amazing persimmon rock cakes, packaged up and mailed out a dozen Paperbackswap books (from decluttering bookshelves last week), began getting an Etsy order ready, updated my weekly to-do list, cooked, started some Christmas gifts, and went to Bridges, dinner, and errand-running with Erik. I picked up four rolls of ribbon and some pin backs from JoAnn, so that’s kind of exciting. But that was the day, and I wish I’d been able to do more. Over the weekend I was able to talk with the extended family about our history, so I have eight pages of handwritten notes I need to deal with… and nearly three hours of recordings to transcribe. This family history project is going to take soooooo long.
Here’s the birthday card I made for Mommy last week, inspired by Stitch School:
I ended up getting Mommy a yarn book, and even though I don’t knit, I found it completely fascinating. It made me think that I should find a fiber book for seamsters too. I know so little about the fabrics with which I work. And speaking of which… do you remember that at the FabMo fair I met a lady who generously offered me her inherited stash of wool scraps? She contacted me, and now I have about five large shopping bags full of wool fabrics, some already cut into rug-braiding strips, some in pieces so big I could make blankets. Shra also gave me two old sheets and three shrunken sweaters yesterday. I am totally excited and overwhelmed by all this fiber bounty! 🙂
Going to spend most of tomorrow out, but I hope to get some work done before and after.
