I can’t believe I forgot to clock-out last night! Well, yesterday was supposed to be a day off, because I thought I deserved some recovery time after Saturday’s exhibit. But just like Sunday, I did actually end up doing some work yesterday. I am rapidly learning that a business owner’s work never ends!!
I wrote this journal entry on creative phases, and took a few more photos for Etsy listings, and tidied up after the FabMo supplies a bit. I also introduced Jackie to The Artist’s Way… maybe that’s how the next thing happened? We had lunch at Cafe Gratitude, and then checked out a cute little boutique on Shattuck, Sala Berkeley, which I have been eyeing for weeks now every time I go to Kimber’s yoga class (they don’t open till noon on Fridays, that’s why I’ve never gone in there before). Jackie ended up chatting with Dielly, the co-proprietor, about the craft fair, and when she asked about it, I kind of stammered awkwardly while Jackie indicated that I’d made the totes we were both carrying. Wow, I am not good at this self-promotion business. Dielly expressed interest, and we talked some more, and exchanged cards. So… there is a possibility that my creations may actually end up in a shop. A real shop, and a very cute one. I had not considered such a thing because I didn’t think I could produce enough volume for a real shop, but Dielly said we could start small and gauge people’s interest. I am very anxious to post the rest of my FabMo inventory onto my Etsy site so Dielly and her partner Racheal can see more of what I do, but I have to wait for the light to get better before I can take the photos.
I am totally overwhelmed by the mere thought of seeing my bags in a shop. I would really love for it to happen. We’ll see.
Oh, and we thought of hanging little satsuma/orange-shaped charms or beads from the bags, as a sort of signature. So we popped into a bead shop and got some to play with, and I’m browsing Etsy for more.
