I drove through the rain to visit the Craft and Folk Art Museum, which I have wanted to see since I first came to LA. Now I am really sad I never made it there earlier, because it’s a beautiful space and a wonderful little museum. There is nothing pretentious about it and the exhibits really encourage exploration and curiosity. One of the exhibits, Exploring the Other: Contemporary Iran through the Lens of Iason Athanasiadis, is just incredible. The photos are magnificent and they give a very interesting look at contemporary Iran.
I also picked up some strange things at the gift shop. They are dried and polished fruits from the spiny monkey apple tree.
