Vacation begins

We are back in San Jose, and I feel toasty and happy and fairly relaxed — given that these days I have a great deal of trouble relaxing under any circumstances.

Last night I dreamed that Erik and I were grocery-shopping at a Japanese food store, and Luna Lovegood followed us around as we searched for noodles. We wandered up and down, carrying things like bags of rice and bundles of negi in our arms, as Luna trailed after us, asking in her soft lilting Irish voice: “What kind of noodles are you looking for?” “Have you tried in this aisle?”

I take this to signify that even in the most mundane of my activities, there is a lingering touch of madness.
