Around town

on my way to the pacific film archive i ran into professor nylan. we exchanged smiles and hellos and she asked how i was and i said okay. then she asked if i’d heard the news, and i hadn’t, so she told me we’d bombed afghanistan. *sigh* i didn’t think about it much because i was afraid of being late to the movie… still haven’t thought much about it yet.

the movie, l’age d’or (‘the golden age’ in french), was the most bizarre thing i’ve ever seen. (the link will take you to a calendar. find today’s date, sunday 7 october, and click on the title of the film for more information.) it was funny and strange and random and sexual–and co-written by salvador dalí, if that tells you anything (it should!).

after the movie i went to avant card to pick up a birthday present for cathy, then to inkstone to buy another super-fine-point black pen. i saw vivian there and we talked for a little bit.

i was going to roast a cornish game hen for dinner but it didn’t defrost so i’ll be having something else instead.
