We watched Persepolis this evening. It was lovely and enjoyable, maintaining the essence of the graphic novels but altered enough to feel fresh. After having read the books, the movie didn’t shake me as much, emotionally, but it was good to see things animated and have sound and music to accompany the images. I laughed and cried. Marjane Satrapi is brilliant.
