This was a combination holiday card and thank-you note for my piano teacher, Michael.  I gave it to him after our end-of-semester recital in 2002.

Michael is one of my favorite people, and now that I'm not at Berkeley anymore I never get to see him. :(  He's a very kind person with a comforting, soothing aura, and he's an excellent piano teacher.  Another reason I like him is he appreciates good food, which includes desserts: he brought eclairs for everyone on the last day of a musicianship class Erik took with him.  I figured someone like that would surely like chocolate, so for his card I drew him the beautiful artisanal chocolates I wished I could have given him instead.  Because I was in a time crunch and had to finish the card right before the recital (while hiding from him outside the concert hall, in fact), I didn't have a chance to color it much, but in the end I think it looks better this way.
