This was my 2002 Christmas card for my dear friend Huy.

As I've explained in my description of my card for Dana, I made a lot of holiday cards that year, so I attempted to make my designs smaller and simpler in hopes that it wouldn't take me forever to draw them all.  Restricting the size and space of my drawings proved an interesting exercise.

This was one of my simpler designs, but it's one of my favorites.  I love the plainness of the green pine needles unfussily adorned with white candles.  I admire minimalism, but I've never been able to achieve it, so the simplicity of this design represents a real triumph of self-control for me!
