Here's another one of my favorite cards.  I made it for Caroline's birthday in 2002. 

I like the card's design, but also, it always makes me happy to be able to work food into my artwork.  I'd wanted to do a birthday cake card for a long time, and I finally hit inspiration with this one. 

You know what makes me happiest about this card?  The candles.  I love the swirl and curve of the flames, and how the candles themselves are sort of melty and squishy looking.  The funny thing is, as I write this now, I've just realized that those candle flames are the precursors to the flowers I drew for my old main page.  Wow.
