This is another one of my favorite cards.  I've always liked swirly vine motifs, and I just love how the plain thin black of the swirls serves as background for the colorful lettering. 

I made this for my friend Cathy for her birthday in 2001.  At the time we'd only just met, but for some reason I found myself taking a lot of time on this card, blocking out all the little squares in pencil with a ruler (two things I almost never did at that time: pre-planning in pencil, and using a ruler).  Later, I had a great time at the party, and was glad I'd spent time on my birthday contribution.  Later still, Cathy became a dear friend.
